‘Raining men’ is a 1*1m silk printed photographic collage on the reinvention of masculinity. Through Leonardo Da Vinci’s anatomical representation of an ideal man, based on Renaissance believes, approaches to perfection are contested through layering between old and new, conventional and revolutionary, death and resurrection.

With a growing and wider acceptance and representation of gender fluidity, masculinity is migrating while liberating individuals from the pressure of being a ‘man’. This, nevertheless, comes with the reveal of oppressed traumatic experiences.

This piece depicts this introspective metamorphosis into the othered, aiming to normalize the other and inviting the spectator to empathize and reflect on the psychological process of deconstruction.
